Will touching an infotainment screen while driving be banned?
With the restrictions on touching the screen of a smartphone while driving being considered, I assume all the cars with touchscreen controls for the radio, Sat Nav, heating etc will be withdrawn from sale and use of the models already sold will be banned?

The mobile phone laws apply specifically to handheld phones, so no. The law on driving without due care and attention, or the more severe conviction for dangerous driving, would be the likeliest laws to be applied to a driver that caught by the police if they were driving recklessly due to touching a touchscreen infotainment system.
