Why should I check my tyres when my car has a tyre pressure warning system?
If a tyre loses pressure a warning symbol appears on my instrument cluster in my Fiat 500. So why are we always advised to check tyre pressures regularly?

My advice is to check your tyres regularly (not just the pressures).
A tyre pressure monitor system will not warn you about tyre damage or excessive wear. A kerb strike or pothole can cause internal damage to the tyre or crack the sidewall, for example.
It's the driver's legal responsibility to ensure the car is safe and roadworthy at all times.
