I don't have speed camera alerts on the built in sat nav in my car and was told by the dealer they are not legal. I could use Google Maps but don't know how to include speed cameras. My old Garmin gave me peace of mind. Is there a solution?
In the UK, sat navs which have a programmed database of safety speed camera locations are legal. It's actually useful to use these systems because drivers that slow down in speed camera locations are slowing down at accident black spots. If you have a smartphone, which I'm assuming you do because of your mention of Google Maps, I'd actually suggest using the Waze app. Waze is updated based on users around you and the community of users is massive so you get alerted before you approach police, accidents, road hazards or traffic jams, all shared by other drivers in real-time. Safety speed cameras are included in things you're warned about. Just make sure you use a phone cradle.
