Currently priced at a comfortable £50, the RST Striker is an entry-level jacket for any urban rider or commuter, featuring double and triple stitched seams and a waterproof breathable lining. Buffalo Retro - textile
This 600 Denier Polyester construction is waterproof and breathable with removable CE approved armour at the shoulders and elbows. Like a few of the other jackets in this top 10, there's a pocket for back protector (not included) and two external pockets with zips at the waist. An 8-inch zip allows attachment to Buffalo jeans.
Buffalo Ladies Siena - textile
The Siena is a women's jacket, with Buffalo being known as a good, budget brand so this jacket is - as we'd expect - a smart buy for money-conscious riders. The Siena is discounted at Sports Bike Shop from £110 to £80 (at the time of writing), and it features a removable 120g thermal quilted lining, waterproof, windproof and breathable drop lining, and removable CE approved shoulder and elbow armour. The 600 Denier polyester construction has a pocket for optional back protection, vents in the chest, upper arms and rear of the jacket, and YKK front zip with Velcro storm flap. There's also plenty of adjustment, reflective detailing and two external pockets.
Oxford Subway 3.0 - textile
The Oxford Subway 3.0 is a waterproof textile construction with a storm flap and gutter system on the front of the jacket. There's CE armour in the elbows and shoulders with vents for improved airflow and adjustment points on the arms and waist for an improved fit. Reflective detailing ensures increased visibility while the suede collar and soft-edged cuffs offer a god amount of comfort. A pocket for optional back protector also sits at the back of the jacket.
Richa Bolt - textile
This textile jacket from Richa features a waterproof layer to keep you warm and dry in wet weather, as well as waist adjustment, vents, a removable padded liner and CE approved shoulder and elbow armour. For the style-conscious rider, the jacket is constructed from textile and leather, and is available in jet black with white stitching. Despite its modest price tag, it features a removable thermal lining, full CE approved armour in the shoulders, elbows and back, and zip ventilation at shoulders, torso and lower arms. The Psycho 2 also has reflective stripes on the shoulders, back and upper arms for added night-time visibility.
RST Tourmaster 2 - textile
The RST Tourmaster 2 is a Ballistic, Max tex and HT tex material construction with Sinaqua waterproof breathable lining and removable thermal quilted lining.
