Tamiya Mazda MX-5 – around £100

Tamiya is arguably the king of radio-controlled cars. The Japanese company makes a huge variety of designs from sports cars to dune buggies and petrol tankers to earthmovers. We have a particular soft spot for this 1:10 scale version of the current MX-5.

If the original MX-5 is more suitable then that’s fine, Tamiya produces that as an R/C model too. It also produces plastic, Airfix-style model kits, R/C aircraft, military miniatures and all sorts of other toys for grown-up kids.
