The dash cam won't have an effect on the Niro's hybrid battery, it will only affect the 12v battery - just like a car with a petrol or diesel engine. You should be fine using a Nextbase 522GW, or any dash camera for that matter, in your Niro. It's mostly older cars with older batteries that risk drained batteries from dash cams being left plugged in when the car isn't running. Although some cheaper cars are also at risk of flat batteries if electronics are left plugged in, lights are left on etc when the engine is off because there's no 12v cut off - which is why we recommend hardwiring.
