What do you recommend to clean and protect alloy wheels?

Having just paid £400 to have corrosion on the alloy wheels of a six-year-old car rectified, what do you recommend, firstly, to clean alloy wheels and secondly what to use to protect them from corrosion?
If your wheels are kept in good condition then a simple soapy clean will suffice, however, if you allow brake disc dust to build up or chip the lacquer then you'll need a wheel cleaner or -as you discovered - they'll get corroded. We'd recommend Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel Cleaner: amzn.to/2OrqNpI
