Exterior Car Care of the Year shortlist
With warmer weather approaching, it's the perfect time to get out and scrub off all the muck that's built up on your car over winter. Regardless of whether you prefer a polish or wax, or both, to keep your car shining - we've picked five of our top Exterior Car Care products to renew that showroom shine.
Greased Lightning Showroom Shine Waterless Wash & Wax
With Greased Lightning Showroom Shine you can clean and protect your car without the fuss of pulling a hose around the house or having to constantly refill buckets of water. There's no need to wash your car first, although we would recommend it just to remove any debris that could get rubbed into the paintwork and cause scratches.
It's a simple case of spraying the Showroom Shine onto the microfibre cloth and then using another microfibre cloth to buff. The product removes bugs, tar, dirt and grime very well, but it does take longer to get the entire body of the car spick and span than a traditional hose and sponge job.

Ring RTC200 tyre inflator
The RTC200 is Ring's new, analogue tyre compressor. Ring claims the RTC200 can inflate a 13-inch tyre from 0 to 35PSI in less than 4.5 minutes, powered straight from the in-car 12V socket. The cable and air line are neatly stored within the inflator, while the three attachments for bikes, air beds and other inflatables are clipped into place near the 12v wire.
Like most simple tyre inflators, there's no set up required with the RTC200; it's simply a case of plugging the 12v end into your car's cigarette lighter and attaching the compressor nozzle to the tyre's valve. Obviously, extras like a light or a digital display would make a tyre pressure far more useful. However, at this price, Ring's offering does exactly what it says on the tin. It's not going to change your life, but this budget, no-fuss approach could be your saving grace considering the potholed state of roads in the UK right now.

Bilt Hamber Double Speed-Wax
If you want to restore the shine to your pride and joy, as well as wanting to wash it less frequently - we tend to recommend a polish followed by a sealant to protect the bodywork. And, in our opinion, Bilt Hamber Double Speed-Wax is one of the best sealants around.
The Double-Speed Wax needs a little more effort than most to buff but it's a worthwhile labour of love. The well-priced Bilt Hamber wax also comes with a sponge and microfibre cloth.

Sealey PW2220 pressure washer
The Sealey PW2200 is a great option for those looking for a no-nonsense pressure washer. It may not be pretty or come with loads of accessories, but for many, they’re likely to sit in a garage most of the time. The lance and Rotoblast that it’s packaged with will deal with most jobs.
The weight may be a bit of an issue - but if that’s the case for you, consider a pressure washer that’s not quite as powerful as this one and you should be able to find something around the 10kg mark. Price wise, it compares well to rivals and comes in below Karcher’s less powerful K4 model when it isn’t on special offer.
