Michelin’s high performance road tyre

Suitable for a wide range of vehicles

Designed to be an excellent all-rounder

What is it?

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres are high-performance summer tyres engineered for sports cars and performance vehicles. Part of Michelin's renowned Pilot Sport series, you’ll pay a premium for a set of Pilot Sport 4s over other more mainstream tyres. What you get in return is exceptional handling and superior grip, while Michelin’s expertise should also help with the longevity of the tyres.

What's it like?

We tested the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s on a Porsche Boxster S and noticed a significant improvement over the set of mid-range tyres that were previously fitted. If you have a high performance car, it’s worth investing in a set of premium tyres like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s to allow you to fully appreciate your car’s abilities.

In dry conditions, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres provide a reassuring amount of grip during high-speed cornering. And, despite their performance focus, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres do not compromise on comfort. They offer a smooth and quiet ride, effectively minimising road noise and vibrations. This balance of performance and comfort makes them ideal for long drives and daily use.

They’re capable in wet weather, too. Designed with wide grooves that efficiently evacuate water, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s resist aquaplaning well and provide impressive wet braking performance.

Should I buy one?

Good tyres are always an easy-to-justify investment. While the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s are more expensive than alternatives, we think they represent a clear case of “you get what you pay for”.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is a tyre that performs reliably under various driving conditions, from spirited driving on winding roads to everyday commuting. You can be confident that you’re investing in some of the most advanced tyre technology in the business, while their durable construction ensures long-lasting performance.

Pros High levels of reactivity and steering control Impressive braking performance Likely to last a long time
Cons Expensive to buy All-season tyres will be a better option for some drivers
